“Allahu Akbar” Shouts Nanny While Parading Severed Head of Toddler

A nanny from Uzbekistan beheaded a toddler left in her charge and paraded through the streets of Moscow with her head on display. Wearing religious garments (wrongly identified as a burka at the link — a burka covers the face and eyes as well) and chanting “Allahu Akbar!”, the nanny went to a metro station and identified herself as a terrorist and suicide bomber.

Some said the woman had paced up and down for some 20 minutes before she was detained near the station. In further footage from the scene, the woman can be heard shouting about the end of the world while proclaiming herself a terrorist…. an eyewitness said: ‘She came to the entrance of the metro station Oktyabrskoye Pole with a red bag, from which she pulled out the child’s head.

‘She walked down the street for a long time and was shouting something. But no one challenged her. Everyone was afraid.’

There is of course some question about her sanity. However, jihadi terrorism aimed at Russian children is not new. Most famously, the Beslan school massacre was staged by Chechen terrorists who seized a Russian school in order to take children hostages. Over 300 people, including 186 children, were killed during the course of the seige. Indeed, it is only because Russian special operations forces stormed the school that any children were rescued. The Chechens were planning to wire the room containing the rest of the hostages with explosives, so that they could murder all the hostages in the event of a rescue attempt.

Less familiar are the training tapes uncovered in Afghanistan that show al Qaeda practicing school takeovers for the purpose of killing schoolchildren. The video tapes were recovered during American operations against terrorist camps in Afghanistan. Terrorists practiced several techniques to make the slaughter as horrific as possible, to include — as was done in Beslan — pretending that it was merely a hostage situation to ensure a long enough delay for media outlets to arrive. That would ensure that coverage of the incident spread worldwide.

Chechens and Uzbeks both trained in Afghanistan, with the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan being an ally of the Taliban in the long war since. It is not unlikely that the Beslan attackers trained with al Qaeda, as the Beslan massacre happened three years after American forces recovered the training tapes.

In recent years, jihad terrorism has become far more often “lone wolf” attacks inspired by Islamist groups rather than necessarily requiring the formal training of, and membership in, a terrorist organization. Of course, there has been at least one terrorist attack targeting children that was not at all linked to support for Islam. It may be that this woman will prove to be insane. Russian authorities are investigating her mental state and background. For now, we only have her word about what she was doing and why.
