As seen in this video, Charlie Baker takes his oath of office to become Governor of Massachusetts and swears to support the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and the Constitution of the United States among other things. As reported by the Clarion Project, Tahirah Amatul-Wadud also intends to run for governor of Massachusetts one day.  Unlike Baker, she has radical Islamist ties that call into question whether she could honestly uphold those oaths should she take them.

Tahirah is a board member for the Council on American-Islamic Relations Massachusetts (CAIR-MA). This is the same Muslim Brotherhood affiliated CAIR that has been labeled a terrorist organization by the UAE and also has ties with the terrorist group Hamas. Even more troubling is Tahirah’s involvement with Muslims of the Americas (MOA) or The Muslims of America, Inc. (TMOA). The group was formerly known as Jamaat ul-Fuqra – a Pakistani group with a history of terrorism.  Wadud serves as the organization’s general counsel.  A 2007 FBI report describes MOA’s terrorist background:

…MOA is a North American international radical fundamentalist group. It emerged in 1982 as a splinter group of Dar-UL Islam which previously espoused calls for young men to join Afghan guerillas in their fight against the Soviet Union. The MOA is now an autonomous organization which possesses an infrastructure capable of planning and mounting terrorist campaigns overseas and within the U.S.

…MOA members have participated in ten murders; one disappearance; three fire bombings and one attempted fire bombing and; two explosive bombings with one attempted bombing. The documented propensity for violence by this organization supports the belief the leadership of the MOA extols membership to pursue a policy of jihad or holy war against individuals or groups it considers enemies of Islam which includes the U.S. Government. Members of the MOA are encouraged to travel to Pakistan to receive religious and military/terrorist training from Sheikh Gilani.

MOA’s headquarters is in “Islamberg” New York where has trained followers in guerilla tactics.  The organization claims a presence in twelve states, boasting of operating twenty-two “Islamic villages[.]”

In addition to its terrorist ties, MOA pushes some hateful doctrines that should repel voters in a ‘diverse’ state like Massachusetts.  The spiritual leader of MOA, Sheikh Mubarak Ali Gillani, is not only full of absurd Zionist conspiracy stories but also has some repulsive things to say about Jews:

Jews are an example of human Satans. This is why Jews are the founders of Satan worship and Masonic lodges, and are now trying to take over the entire globe in which the global religion is to be Satanism.

Gillani has also made degrading statements about the Christian faith such as, “Muslims and others with common sense don’t believe in the hocus pocus churned out by Pauline Christianity.”  Yet MOA is involved in the ‘interfaith’ movement and connected with the United Muslim Christian Forum (UMCF), which “was established to recognize similarities between Muslims and Christians, diminish differences and seek a new solid foundation of joint respect based on the unchallenged commandments of God[.]”

Gillani’s disparaging comments call into question whether this forum is what it’s claiming to be.  The forum seems more like a means to stir up anti-Jewish sentiment that tries to reach Christians for the Islamist cause. For instance, at a 2012 event the speaker, UMCF’s Khalifa Hussein Adams, claimed,

“[Jesus] is a role model for the Sufis, as opposed to the Jews who deprived him of the honor of being born to a blessed virgin mother. They also conspired to take his life. He was called the son of an illegitimate birth, while his mother was termed a woman of ill repute. Perhaps you are well aware of the fact that the Jews brought false allegations of sedition and rebellion against Jesus son of Mary to their Roman masters. Because of this, they say he was crucified.”

These ‘interfaith dialogue’ initiatives are venues where Islamists typically seek to spread the message of Islam (dawah) and mobilize liberal activists who are non-Muslims to dispense their ‘Islamophobia’ narrative that seeks to silence any criticism of Islamism.

Tahirah Amatul-Wadud has helped MOA/TMOA with its ‘Islamophobia’ campaign by being a conference planning committee member (and a moderator) for its first International Islamophobia conference in 2015. Also, in her biography for the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women it states that she “was a White House invitee December 2015 attending a ceremony entitled, Celebrating and Protecting America’s Tradition of Religious Pluralism where the community program ‘Know Your Neighbor’ was launched.” It is almost a joke knowing her involvement with MOA and CAIR that she or anyone else with her connections could be invited to a “religious pluralism” event at the White House.  Apparently leadership in a Jew bashing, Sharia advocating organization with a terrorist past isn’t a disqualifier.

Massachusetts deserves much better than Wadud.
